No, The GPS service is free. But some have other features you can pay for like live traffic, weather etc. But once you buy it and plug it in you’re ready to navigate.
My Garmin Nuvi 760 is not charging when plugged into lighter socket. The socket appears to be too short for the plug, and part of the plug remains outside the socket. Is there any attachment that cam be used to charge the Garmin while driving in the Altima?
It is fully charged, has the latest firmware and I have tried to reset it. Although I cannot view anything it appears to “work” because it beeps when I touch some areas of the screen.

My GPS and fishfinder are mounted side by side on the dash of my boat. I have seen many people with the same configuration on their boat. I have never heard of this problem. Is it feed back from the fish finder? Static elect?
I am interested in buying a Garmin c330.
But, I would like to get the new updates. My understanding is that the maps were last updated in April 2006.
If I buy the unit before the new maps are released, then I don’t get a free upgrade. So, I want to wait until the update comes out.
Do you have a good idea when the new maps will likely be released?
I try to log into Garmin connect, and it logs me in, but when it goes to the next page, it closes my window.
I just hooked up my Garmin. I have the power cord coming from the cigarette lighter to my Garmin. When I got home, I shut off the car. But an hour later, the Garmin was still lit up, with the power cord still coming from the cigarette lighter. I’m concerned about draining the car’s battery. Should I take the power cord off when the Garmin’s battery is charged. How do you use your Garmin?
