Its because I am thinking of getting one for a boat I have just got (the boat is quite old) but in reasonable nick with a 12v battery.

I’m thinking of buying a garmin gps…and want to know if it will tell me my speed that I am going.
Or if all SD cards are usable can you please provide proof of it?
I need to buy an SD card for it so that I can put on all my Dads Pink Floyd albums for when he is driving 
His Birthday is on Monday, so I need an answer soon.
The bigger card the better, but I need to know that it will actually work!

it shuts off when i was driving today. So i get home and plug it in to the computer. The screen displays the gps is connected to the computer. it has been 6 hrs, how do i know when it is done charging? Thx.
I think it’s showing me the total increase in altitude, but what I want is all the little increases in altitude totaled up. So for example if I started at 6,000 feet, went up to 6,800, then back to down to 6,000, and back up to 7,000. I think it’s showing me 1,000 (summit-base), not the total climbing (which would be 1,800)?
I’m just in the process of buying a gps and want to make sure i am being sold the mode they tell me i am getting. All the Garmin Nuvi GPS look the same almost so how can I tell? Thanks,
