Yes you can, but first you must download the routable philippines map.
Here are the steps:
1. Install Garmin Mapsource. (The CD should have come with your unit.)
2. Download the Philippines map from
http://www.freewebs.com/phroadguide/
3. Install philippines map.
4. Connect GPS unit to your computer using cable.
5. Download philippines map to your GPS unit using Mapsource. Make sure you insert a new memory card into the unit as downloading the philippines map will erase your old maps.
6. Voila.. it should now work in the philippines.

They are both priced within $10 of each other. I’ll probably only us in North America for driving trips.
Does anyone have any opinions on which is better? More user friendly?

Max Micro Sd Size For Garmin Nuvi 855?

I have a Garmin Nuvi 855, it accepts Micro SD cards but I have no idea what the max size it will support is? 1GB 2, 4 or 8?? I wouldn’t need more than 8 but I am not going to buy one to find out it won’t work! I have checked their site and all the reviews I could find but nowhere is it mentioned. If you have one and use a SD card could you post how big! Thank You!

when i turn my nuvi 200 on, it goes through the process, “loading maps” and then asks me to confirm the agreement. A new message is displayed “no detailed maps found that support routing. the nuvi cannot be used without them”
i got the Satnav unit for christmas 2007 whitch came with no cd. i looked on the garmin website and they want £60 to “update the maps”.
i just want my maps back? can anyone help?
