Has Anyone Used The Garmin Nuvi 200 Portable Gps, And Do You Think It Is Worth The Money?

Technology advances so fast. I don’t think I would commit to a lifetime anything. The prices of the GPS’s and the prices of the updates are dropping dramatically.
I need to buy a new sat nav. Was going to go for another tom tom but have heard good things about the Garmin Navman and am now unsure about which way to go. Please help!
I am looking at most likely a Garmin Nuvi 250 or 350. Most likely will get the 250… but wondered about the TMC compatibility on the 350 model.
It says it supports TMC when I look on the bestbuy.ca website so I can only assume that one has to sign up/subscribe and pay for such a service.
Can anyone tell me if indeed you need to pay for this service and what typical rates are? I am in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada.
Also let me know what you think of this service if you currently have it.
