Which Gps Is Better? Magellan 1412 Or Garmin 270 Nuvi?
They are both priced within $10 of each other. I’ll probably only us in North America for driving trips.
Does anyone have any opinions on which is better? More user friendly?
Thanks!

I prefer Garmin. When I bought one 11 years ago, I actually bought a Magelian. It was clunky, very hard to use, etc. When I showed it to a guy I was working with, he said the problem is typical of Mag. So I took it back and swapped for a Garmin. Love it! I’m sure by now Mag has corrected their problems, but I still like Gar better.
Garmin is a best gps system and popular gps, Garmin has a simple controls – simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, has a turn-by-turn voice directions, 2-D or 3-D maps and more feature.
I suggestion a Garmin nuvi model is a 255W, 760 (Popular GPS).
255W: same as 205W but has text-to-speech (you get turn by turn spoken directions with the real names of streets (e.g. “turn left in 50 feet at Nebraska Way”, rather than merely “turn left in 50 feet”)), 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, etc.
760 : has text-to-speech, 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, Bluetooth, etc.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UX9…
I recieved a Magellan Maestro 4040 for Christmas. I’ve seen it around town for $300 (on sale). My parents have a Garmin and I can’t get my mom to stop talking about how much better their GPS is than mine. She keeps suggesting that I take it back and get a Garmin. I’m not going to…but does what she say have any validity? Which brand is better?
I have heard that TomTom Customer service is non-existant and they don’t respond to emails or phone calls.. I think only snail-mail.. or they take months to respond. Plus I have heard that updating the maps is a pain or they don’t have new maps.
I have the Garmin 660 I think it’s amazing.. I bought it from amazon I couldn’t believe they had it like $400 off and I got it for the same price as the lower low models ..

I like the Magellan Maestro 4250 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator.
This is the first GPS I’ve owned or used, so I’m not speaking from experience. It worked GREAT on our trip from Vermont to HHI, South Carolina. The directions and POI’s served us very well. The screen helps folks in the back seat see what’s up. The AAA references work great, too. It generally responds well to our verbal commands. Two points on that, though: follow the directions (speak softly); and I wish you could program it to respond to custom commands.
The only reason I took one star away was because of the Bluetooth. It actually works with my PDA (Audiovox VX660), even though it’s not listed. Many phones aren’t listed. But the volume isn’t sufficient at highway speeds (even in a very quite Audi A6) and the connection between the phone and the GPS/Bluetooth has to be re-established every time you turn the unit back on, which is pretty lame. But otherwise, I recommend this unit to others.
which has a better feauture or practical to use
Please explain the reason of your preference.
