I Got A Garmin Nuvi For Christmas And It Just Keeps Saying Aquiring Satellites, Should I Return It?

I live in a major city so there should not be a problem finding a satellite. I can program it but all it does is keep flashing the little car symbol on the one area I was in a few days ago….any suggestions? Do I call Garmin or return it to where it was purchased?
