Yes you can, but first you must download the routable philippines map.
Here are the steps:
1. Install Garmin Mapsource. (The CD should have come with your unit.)
2. Download the Philippines map from
http://www.freewebs.com/phroadguide/
3. Install philippines map.
4. Connect GPS unit to your computer using cable.
5. Download philippines map to your GPS unit using Mapsource. Make sure you insert a new memory card into the unit as downloading the philippines map will erase your old maps.
6. Voila.. it should now work in the philippines.

They can do by matching up the serial number obviously.
Garmin have an online registration system – so if you registered it there, and it was stolen, you could tell them that it had been stolen, and if someone then tried to re-register it, they would get a record of that.
Lots of ifs there unfortunately.
If you are asking if they could do it remotely, as in find out where it was, no.

Do You Think Google Maps Navigation Could Seriously Destroy Garmin, Tomtom And The Rest?

No. Only a small subset of cell phone users will be able to use that app. First you need a smartphone, which usually has an expensive data package. A lot of people are happy with their “dumbphone” and don’t want to pay for a data plan. Second, the smartphone has to be running Android 2.0 OS. Android phones simply haven’t taken off and even with the new phones and new OS, I don’t think Android will be widespread. Even if the app is ported to the iPhone OS, there will still be a lot of people out there who won’t have a phone that can run the Google navigation app. I don’t think people will change phones and plans just to use the Google app. They’ll just keep using their old phone and buy a regular GPS navigation device.
Then there are the issues of battery life and processing power of the phone, screen size, user interface, handling navigation and phone calls at the same time, and having a data signal when in rural areas.
Yes, many people will adopt the Google navigation app, but there are many reasons people will stick with the traditional GPS device.

I Got A Gps Device (garmin) As A Gift From The States. Could I Use It In Canada?

My cousin from the States just mailed a GPS device to me as a birthday present as my parents and I like to roadtrip a lot. She says that it works fine in the States, but she’s not sure if the maps would show up in Canada.
So I was wondering if I could use it in Canada?
