I wanted the TomTom because of the live traffic feature. How does it work and is it accurate?
Eventually the maps will be out of date; you may have to pay to download an updated map. Also, there are optional pay services available like live traffic updates. The basic navigation functions, however, don’t have any additional costs.
I can buy the cd or a sandisk memorycard for the same price. Can I buy the cd and upload it on to my pc and then download that onto a larger memory card. I can buy one up to 2gb. Both have their advantages, I just want to have both without spending double the money.
I saw quite a few on Craigslist, that are much cheaper than buying new. Is there anything I should be wary of when buying used?
A reputable (but not authorized) online seller has a special for a Garmin 255w for $199 today but another online seller–an authorized dealer–has it selling for $215. Is it worth the extra $16 to buy from an authorized dealer? Thanks.

I heard they are great in the city areas and the actuall device has great ratings however they said in any rural area it isn’t too accurate, we are planning a big trip in several months from Texas to Colorado lots of rural. Does anyone have one, what do they think do you use it in the rural area, any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated. =))
