My Garmin StreetPilot c330 GPS battery no longer holds a charge. I use the mount to the dashboard, and the cord has to be plugged into the car and the unit for it to power on. It costs $150 for Garmin to repair it, which is more than I can buy one for!
So, does anyone know a trick to get it to start holding a charge again, or how to replace the battery and what type to buy?

Dont lithium batteries die over time? I just got my garmin, and was wondering if on down the road I need to replace the batteries for fresh ones.. .well how do i do that? There is no door on the back of the unit, so im confused if i even CAN replace the batteries. I’m in no need to do this now, BUT.. after I was looking am not sure they can be replaced at all. Anyone have any info on battery replacement of this unit if needed?
the manual says its not replaceable..but looking around i find many sources to buy one…
The battery contact can be removed the one which connects the batteries together
Tried everything. Does this battery arrive charged? Got the GPS from Staples and am having a HARD time learning anything about it. Think I’m just too old to learn new stuff. This is my first GPS and probably my last!! Thanks
I bought the Garmin Nuvi 260w and its rated at about 5 hours battery life. I went on a 45 minute drive to work with it unplugged on a full battery and by the end of it… 45 minutes… it was dead. Is this a defect or are GPS batteries just that bad?
My battery isn’t quite dead yet, but I’d like to know if, when the time comes, if the internal lithium-ion battery can be replaced. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers to all. 
I know the wrist monitor is rechargeable, but was wondering about the heart rate chest strap. Is the battery in it replaceable or do you have to send it off for replacement as the many chest straps I have owned in the past only last between 1 1/2 to 2 years. Also, when you download your info on the site does your running course with street names automatically load?
Will I damage the battery on my garmin gps(nuvi 250) if i recharge it with an ac adapter before the battery is completely dead?
