Garmin Gps Warranty Question?
I just bought the Garmin 260W from amazon and did not realize that it is a discontinued product. Does the 1 year warranty still apply? If so what does it cover? If not can I buy an additional warranty in case it breaks?

Warranties start from the date of purchase, so keep your receipt.
Garmin does offer extended warranties BUT they usually aren’t needed or worth the dollars paid. If and only if the “extended warranty” covers theft and damage would it be worth considering.
If you put the unit on a credit card, you may already have an extended coverage clause in the credit card agreement. Many CC companies “double” warranty periods etc.
If it was used, then the warranties don’t transfer. Usually, the manufactures will honor a warranty one year after the date of purchase. I don’t think it matters if it is discontinued. It’s interesting that they didn’t tell you that in the add. When buying electronic gadgets, always check for the latest models. Usually the newer ones have improvements over the older ones. Some companies have updates to the older models to provide improvements also. Check this online.
