I have used a few different makes over the years and tomtoms are by far the best in their price range. I've owned two Garmin GPS units so far including the slightly newer Garmin C340 and have been very pleased with them. They're so easy to use that even my dad could use it and that's saying something. What's more, there are even free Garmin maps available for every country in the world. These are compiled by Garmin GPS enthusiast and amateur map authors. Just copy them to your SD card, pop it into your Garmin unit and you're good to go. Go for the Garmin C330.
