Garmin is a best gps system, Garmin has a simple controls – simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, has a turn-by-turn voice directions, 2-D or 3-D maps and more feature.
I suggestion a Garmin nuvi in an advance model is a 255W, 760 for the higher model is a 765T, 775T, 785T, 885T.
255W: same as 205W but has text-to-speech (you get turn by turn spoken directions with the real names of streets (e.g. “turn left in 50 feet at Nebraska Way”, rather than merely “turn left in 50 feet”)), 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, where am I function, etc.
760 : has text-to-speech, 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, bluetooth, speed limit Indicator, where am I- where’s my car function, multi-destination routing, etc.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UX9…
765T : has text-to-speech, 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, bluetooth, speed limit Indicator, where am I- where’s my car function, multi-destination routing, lane assist, free real-time traffic updates from Navteq, etc.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ELJ…
885T : has text-to-speech, 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, bluetooth, personal travel assistant, get enhanced MSN direct, send addresses directly from google maps or mapquest, where am I function, etc.
I personally don’t like brand-name GPS’s because they are generally very expensive and there are many great non-brand GPS’s that do the job just as well (arguably even better) than brand name GPS’s. You can find a lot of great deals for GPS’s on online sites such as eBay.
Not too long ago I bought a $2000 in-dash GPS for like $400 off eBay and I love it. I installed it myself (it came with an installation manual and it really wasn’t hard at all to do). I think it has more features than all Garmin and tom tom brand GPS’s that go for $400. This is similar to the one that I got: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280392702226&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
It’s really nice.
Hope this helped.
This is not the right question to form any useful answer.
What are your needs?
There is not only one Tomtom or Garmin GPS-product out there.
If you mean the software, it is also difficult, as it runs on so many different devices.

Garmin hands down, but, Tom Tom uses Garmin’s ‘towers’.
