Are The Garmin 205 And 305 Basically Exactly The Same Except The 305 Comes With The Heart Rate Monitor?
The 305 comes with the heart monitor, and the 205 doesn’t.
AND….
The 305 is compatible with the optional cadence sensor (for biking).
The 305 is compatible with the optional foot pod (for indoor use, e.g. treadmill or indoor track).
The 305 is obviously red while the 205 is blue.
You cannot upgrade the 205 to any of the above (including heart monitor) after-the-fact.
Yes, I have the forrunner 205 and a freind of mine has the 305 and the only thing is the heart rate monitor and the cost of course.
Mostly the same.
I have got the 205 and for the few ££ more that the 305 cost I think I would go for that an the option of a heart rate monitor as well.
