Is The Garmin G1000 Just A Marketing Ruse To Allow Cessna To Charge $225,000 For A $75,000 Aircraft?
I know that manufacturing costs and liability has ruined the aircraft industry.
No more C-150s or PA-28s, but darn, $225,000 for a 2007 “Escort” or “Focus” type aircraft?

The price of having fun just keeps going up.
Price a cirrus.
The new aircraft have a whole new electrical system and yo have to pay for it.
Try buying a older model and bring it up to new specs you will save but it ain’t cheep
aproved repair stations will be glad to give you quote. remember you only get what you pay for. the bargain will haunt you
Not at all. It doesn’t account for any more than about $40,000 of that price. It’s a heck of a lot better than the steam gauges it replaces.
Hardly. The Garmin probably replaces $15,000 worth of individual radios (at last count, my 172 had nine). Unfortunately, flying has gotten absurdly expensive; when I started, 172 time was $12 an hour — wet.
This is whats hurting the fun of flying and the industry ,these expensive planes. This is what keeps me from flying.Cost.
